Micro-Museum — Service In Savannah
Project Location: Savannah / Hilton Head International Airport
The Mission
Military service plays a vital role in the Savannah community, yet the historical contributions and ongoing service of Fort Stewart–Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF) are often underrecognized.
Our mission is to design a micro-museum at Savannah Airport that highlights these stories. Through collaborative teamwork, we aim to create an engaging spatial experience and deliver comprehensive architectural drawings along with an implementation-ready design package.
The Challenge
The military is often perceived as distant and serious. Traditional military museums rely on text and static artifacts, which limit community engagement.
This project explores how HAAF’s values—“We are you / City-led service”—can be translated into a modern, interactive micro-museum. By combining spatial storytelling and immersive, educational experiences, we aim to reshape visitor perception while deepening connection to the community. The process fostered dynamic and rewarding brainstorming within the team.
The Outcome
Delivered a cohesive and engaging spatial experience through iteration and collaboration, earning client recognition and a challenge coin from the Army Airfield representative.
