Legend of Zelda Dark Ride (2025)

The Mission
Design a dark ride attraction within the given building floor plan, along with a themed bar/restaurant/retail space. Plan entrances, circulation, and facility layout, while designing the scenes/show sets. Deliverables included floor plans, elevations, and concept renderings.

The Challenge
Based on the nature of a dark ride, I focused the concept on showcasing lighting effects inspired by The Legend of Zelda, as well as dynamic action, sound, and visual experiences during battles. This raised the challenge of how to make guests feel the rhythm of the characters, while considering the placement and reactions of enemies. Another challenge was determining what aspects of the game’s vast world to include, ensuring the experience resonates with visitors without making each scene feel disjointed or repetitive.

The Outcome
Concept Design: Side Quest – Purah’s Request. The dark ride focuses on a side quest where Link acquires equipment in a temple and battles monsters (Guardians) to complete the quest. The project also included the design of a restaurant, bar, and retail store within the same building.
